It’s that time of year when we welcome the holidays with grateful hearts! And time once again for the Grand Central Holiday Fair. This is a landmark year for the event, since Grand Central Terminal turned 100 this year! And it’s a special event for us as we celebrate our eighth year of participating.

The Grand Central Holiday Fair is one of our favorite events each year. It gives us the chance to show off our latest designs as well as our limited edition jewelry designed just for the holidays.

Preparations for the fair are in full force as we create limited edition items for the holidays, as well as plenty of 24K gold plated items that are perfect for gift giving. We’ve also got black resin and pewter mix items and new pins you’ll want to see, as well as limited-time one-of-a-kind pieces like keepsake boxes. This is your chance to shop for not only your friends and family, but also for yourself! After all, you deserve something special this holiday season.

The fair will be November 12 to December 24, and will have more than 70 vendors offering a wide variety of gift items. Find Selen Designs in Booth 31, between 42nd Street and the Main Concourse. The fair schedule is as follows:

• Monday – Saturday 10AM to 8PM

• Closed Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve 10AM to 6PM

We’re thrilled to introduce our Urban Pewter Nature collection, just in time to celebrate fall. Our bold, organic, and earthy collection was inspired by the textures and feel that leaves and other elements of nature evoke.

As you know, nature is constantly changing and evolving. We wanted to capture the essence of the organic flow of the natural world, and to that end, we created sets using the Mayan sun, tulips, ivy and maple leaves, and coral tree of life branches.

The designs come in earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces--some of which can be worn together as a set for even more dramatic effect. They’re the perfect addition to your wrap dress, light sweater, or other fall apparel.

The Urban Pewter Collection is as affordable as it is functional. Prices range from $20 to $125, and this collection won’t be around long. We hope you love wearing this collection as much as we loved creating it!

Celebrate Your Love of Yoga With Urban Om

I find that yoga inspires more creativity in my jewelry making, and makes me feel more balanced in life. I’m off to a good start for my day if I get in a few Sun Salutations when I wake up. That’s why I created the Urban Om collection: jewelry inspired by the grace and flow of yoga asanas.

In the collection, I created Buddha-inspired rings, pendants and bracelets with the universal symbol for “Om,” and earrings sporting hamsa, the Middle Eastern symbol of protection against the evil eye.

No yoga practice would be complete without the King Dancer Pose, right? That’s why I recently added Tree of Life/King Dancer pendants to the collection, available in both pewter and 24 karat gold dipped pewter.

Our Seated Asana pendants, also available in pewter and gold, are popular with yoginis. And I’m especially proud of the Lotus pieces I crafted for the Urban Om collection. Each is handcrafted to accent the delicate features of the lotus leaves. Because the lotus symbolizes spiritual and mental purity, it’s great to wear when you need to clear your mind and focus.

If pewter isn’t your style, check out our new bracelet collection, made of antique brass, recycled wood beads, and brass beads. The beads are Mushana--paper beads made from recycled magazines and newspaper, created by Nigerian widows. The great thing about the Urban Om collection is that there’s something for every taste. I’ve even had people tell me they don’t practice yoga, but still love the collection!

In NYC? Stop By One of Our Locations!

In addition to selling Selen Design and Urban Om online, we have a few locations where you can purchase our collections in New York City. We’re also updating our website, Selen Design, so stay tuned for big changes.

Until the end of October, you can find our work in the Grand Central Terminal at Kiosk No. 1. We are located across Track 17 at the Graybar Passageway in the Lexington Entrance. Our hours at this location are:

Mon-Fri 8am to 8pm
Sat 10am to 7 pm
Closed Sunday

We also have space in the Meatpacking District at the Urbanspace Design and Food Show until October 28, then will reopen in early November and run through December 24--just in time for Christmas gifts! You’ll find us across from the Standard Hotel, across from the boutique, Scoop, on 13th Street (corner of Washington Street and 13th Street, New York, NY 10014). At this location, you’ll find more of the items I’ve crafted for men. Our hours at this location are:
